After BNO crashed, Ian and I were chatting and I said I'd see about maybe getting a new look up here.  Kind of give this place a fresh start.  So, here it is.  I set it as the forum default but if you're using a custom theme and you want to see it, you'll need to go into your profile and change the theme to SMF Revamped.

Let me know what you think.  I thought we needed a new color scheme and logo and all of this just kind of came together.  I am definitely open to suggestions!

It's going to take a while to get used to, but I think I like it.

I love it! I didn't know what board I was viewing at first.

Great job!

Anyone else having issues with Opera web browser?  I can get to splash page, but once I try to get to http://forums.bucknakedoffroad.com/index.php ; I get the banner and that's about it.  I've tried the usual stuff, cleared the memory cache, disk cache and stopped and restarted the browser, it's still not working.  I'm running the most current version of Opera and I just confirmed with my other computer, Opera is doing the exact same thing.  I am able to access this page through firefox on the same computer (that's how I'm sending this message).

Huh, that's odd. I use Firefox so I couldn't tell ya. That's above my head.

Try going into your user control panel and switching the theme. See if that shows up on Opera. That would narrow it down to the theme instead of the new SMF version.

I tried Opera again on a different computer with a different OS and without being logged in to BNO; exact same issue.  Do you want me to snap a copy of my screen to show you want I'm talking about?

I'll look into it.  I was having issues on my iPhone, which is Safari, but I figured the phone wasn't a big deal.  I built it in Firefox so I didn't catch it initially.

Did you say you switched themes?  Is it happening on all themes or just this one?

Oh Ian, do you mind if I delete the other themes on here besides this one and the old default one.  I think they're taking up valuable space on the server and since the member base is fairly small, I don't think we need the numerous themes.

If anyone is using a theme other than the old default (that light blue one) or this one (orange and black) and would like to keep it, let me know which one you're using and I'll make sure I don't get rid of it.

It does not matter if I'm logged in or not, so it's happening with the default theme.  I have not tried it with the old theme enabled on my account, but that shouldn't matter since I can not get to the login screen.  I would be required to use the default theme until I could be authenticated.  I am able to load the "splash screen" from http://www.bucknakedoffroad.com , but when it switches to the new forum home page, it loads the banner and that's about it..  I've repeated the problem with the following OS and versions of Opera:

  • Opera 10.10 on Fedora 11 (Linux new 2.6.30.10-105.fc11.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Dec 24 16:41:51 UTC 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux)

I did some initial research into the theme and it looks like it's not only Opera but Chrome and Safari.  I could very well be wrong but it looks like something in the way the javascript is written for the collapsible header is not being handled properly by those browsers.  Could probably be attributed to the theme having not been updated for a year or so (but all of the newer themes were awful).  Since I didn't write the theme and my javascript experience is minimal to null, all I can do at the moment is switch the board default back to the blue and white.  This should let you use it from your Opera browser.  Anyone else who is seeing the old theme who doesn't want to and would rather switch to the new one, can go into Profile > Look and Layout Preferences and change their theme to SMF Revamped.  I'd rather have the boards work across all browsers than the fancy new theme as the default.

If there's anyone who is a javascript guru who wants to take a look at it, you're more than welcome to.

Ian, I also deleted all the old themes so some space should be cleared off the server.

Kewl - thank you!  Everything working again in Opera.  I would probably break it worse if I tried to fix the code - I can barely spell javacode correctly.

Thanks, Kristy for taking care of that. That new logo was cool though, we could try and incorporate that into the site somehow...

I'll look into maybe working the design changes into the default theme.  Maybe switch that one up a bit to reflect a cleaner look.  Maybe change the colors.  I've got some ideas so give me some time.
